Havelis of Jaipur

Jaipur or the pink city in the state of Rajasthan is one of the most popular destinations in India. Among the wide range of tourist attractions of the place, the havelis in Jaipur has become famous worldwide.

Havelis of JaipurThese havelis in Jaipur are the ultimate examples of the rich tradition and artwork of the ancient artisans. They are the proof of the royal past that we have only heard of. The most popular havelis located in Jaipur include:

Alsisar Haveli- located in the heart of pink city, this haveli was built in 1982. You can find the extraordinary effort of the Rajput architects at every corner of the haveli. The huge rooms signify the lifestyle of the ancient prince and princess who lived here once upon a time. The elevated platform located centrally in the ground floor was earlier used for the gents’ get together. Today, this space is used to host puppet shows and folk dances. The lobby and the inner courtyard or chowk are the striking features of this haveli.

Alsisar haveli is owned by the Kachawa clan of Rajputs. Today, it has been turned into a heritage hotel comprising all modern day facilities and services. The large rooms are well furnished with antique furniture and decorated with mediaeval Rajasthani style-fabrics. These 36 air-conditioned rooms also include the latest facilities like temperature controls and attached tub-baths.

Samode Haveli- this is another haveli turned hotel which offers personalized services to its guests. The 22 rooms and suites are beautifully decorated and well furnished. The antique furniture and fixtures would make you feel royal. You can also find some old family portraits hung on the walls. These rooms include a separate dressing area where the princess and queen used to get ready. Besides the well equipped rooms, the rooms include other facilities like ensuite bathrooms with shower. Other facilities include the tub with hot and cold water, television with cable connection, air conditioning and telephones.
